Behind the Scenes

EarthTeam is powered by a secure backend service that handles all the behind-the-scenes work — user accounts, project data, wallet transactions, verification workflows, and the gAIa assistant.

How It Works

User Accounts — Registration, login, and profile management are handled securely. Your password is encrypted and your session is protected.
Project Data — Every conservation project, solution, and wildlife incident report is stored in a geospatial database, making it possible to display them on the interactive map.
Wallet & Stars — EarthTeam Stars are real cryptocurrency tokens on the Solana blockchain. The backend manages wallet creation and transaction processing securely.
Verification — When a project is verified, multiple verifiers submit assessments. The system compares scores and reaches consensus to ensure accuracy.
gAIa Assistant — The AI chat connects to language models to provide conservation guidance. Conversation history is saved so you can pick up where you left off.
Push Notifications — The platform can send alerts for verification opportunities, earned Stars, upcoming deadlines, and new projects near your area.

All communication between the app and the servers is encrypted. Only authorized users can access their own data. The infrastructure is built with industry-standard technology (Django, PostgreSQL, Solana) and is designed to scale as the EarthTeam community grows.
